PRODUCT RECALL: Freedom Healthcare Quad walkers

Freedom Healthcare, in consultation with the TGA, is recalling two models from its Quad walkers range.  The affected model numbers, BRO209 (pictured) and BRO199 have the potential for injury as a result of breakage. It has been reported that in some instances the right front wheel of walkers from these batches has worked loose, or broken away from the frame.

The walking aids being recalled were manufactured in June and October 2016 and carry the batch numbers FHFHCBR13 or FHFHCBR15. For those with a walker with either of these batch numbers, return it to the place of purchase for a replacement or refund. Health professionals should advise patients accordingly if they seek advice on this issue, or, providers with patients using a Freedom Healthcare Quad walker should check the information sticker on the walker for the batch number.

Freedom Healthcare is writing to people who, according to their records may have a walker that is affected by the recall, to provide further information about this issue and details of the recall procedure.
