Road safety survey for children with disability 

Mobility and Accessibility for Children in Australia (MACA) has launched a survey to help improve road safety for children with disabilities.

MACA is leading an Austroads project in partnership with The George Institute for Global Health, to undertake research into speciality harnesses and vests often used by children with disabilities and medical conditions in motor vehicles.

As part of the research, the survey invites parents or guardians to share their experience in accessing and using speciality harnesses and vests for their child. Survey outcomes will contribute to the development of information and recommendations to guide harness and vest use for children.

The survey is for Australian and New Zealand parents/guardians with a child, under 16 years, who currently uses a specialty harness or vest when travelling in a motor vehicle.

The stakeholder kit provides information to help guide promotional activities, including social media and newsletter copy.

The University of New South Wales Human Research Ethics Committee has approved the study (HC220818).
