Vision Australia Radio Albury-Wodonga is opening its doors to the public on June 23 for a behind the scenes look of the radio service for the local blind and low vision community.
Visitors will be able take a studio tour, see what goes into putting together a live radio program as well as find out more on how they can get involved. People who are blind or have low vision will also provide feedback on what they would like to hear more of on Vision Australia Radio Albury-Wodonga.
There will be information packs and door prizes for attendees plus catering supplied by Rafferty’s Catering Wodonga who support the event and the station.
Vision Australia Radio manager Conrad Browne said the open day is an opportunity for listeners to connect with their station and a way to encourage the broader community to get involved including those who are keen to become volunteers.
“It’s a great way for us to demonstrate the importance of Vision Australia Radio Albury-Wodonga by providing access to information and a connection to what is going on in the community. It’s also a way of showcasing and recognising our volunteers who put in the time and effort each week to get our local programs to air”.
The open day runs from 9.30-11.30am at the studios on 490 David Street, Albury.
