Submissions are now open for the Canon Oceania 2023 Grants program that offers a grant pool of $50,000, that celebrates the company’s 50th year in Australia.
Canon recognise three category winners across education, community and environment with a $5,000 grant ($2,500 cash, $2,500 for product and training), in addition to an overall winner who will receive both a grant and a content development package valued at $10,000, with products including cameras, lenses, printers and other accessories.
In addition, the $10,000 Content Development Package awarded to the overall grant recipient in Australia and New Zealand enables the winning individual or organisation to build professional content to support their initiative in the form of editing, photography, videography and/or studio hire.
Last year’s winner of the Education Grant was Kamaruka School for neurodivergent boys from Years 2 to 10. The 2022 Community Grant winner, GingerSnap Patisserie, is a social enterprise that creates opportunities for people with a disability. (See Link magazine December/January 2023)
Grant details: Community Grant – open to organisations that have a positive impact on communities, encompassing cultural and societal causes; Education Grant – open to schools and other educational centres for children and adults and Environment Grant – open to not-for-profits and organisations dedicated to raising awareness of the protection of the environment or promoting sustainable practices.
Since its inception 17 years ago Canon has supported more than 100 community organisations and schools, providing more than $500,000 in monetary and product support.
