Astris PME, a leading Australian provider of scripted Assistive Technology has acquired assistive equipment distributor Access N Equip.

Based in Bundaberg, Queensland, Access N Equip distributes top-tier brands such as Rifton, Schuchmann, Ormesa, CareFlex, Hoggi, Jenx, Hippocampe, Volter, xRover, Firefly, and more. It is the largest supplier of Paediatric and Young Adult Assistive Technology Equipment in South East Queensland.

“By bringing Access N Equip into the Astris PME family, we’re able to pool our strengths and resources, allowing us to broaden our product offerings and better serve our clients,” said Steve Joyce, CEO of Astris PME.

“Over time, we plan to expand our local demonstration pool to include more equipment, such as manual and powered wheelchairs, adult equipment, and more.”

The Bundaberg-based Astris team services clients from the Sunshine Coast, including Gympie, Maryborough, and Hervey Bay, to the west in North and South Burnett, and regularly travels north to Gladstone, Rockhampton, and Mackay. This expansion now allows Astris PME to provide coverage from Mackay in the north, all the way down to Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Tweed Heads, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Canberra, and through to Melbourne.

Upcoming Changes

Until November 2024, customers will see the following changes:

  • Access N Equip’s range of products and services will be expanded and improved.
  • Access N Equip’s systems and technologies will be updated.
  • Email addresses will be updated to bundaberg@astris-pme.com.au.
  • The current phone numbers will stay the same: (07) 4152 8303 or 0417 108 214.
  • The showroom at 106 Maryborough St, Walkervale QLD 4670, will move to a larger location to better serve our clients.
  • The Access N Equip website will be integrated into www.astris-pme.com.au.
  • All legal entities will now operate under Astris PME Pty Ltd (ABN: 62 630 886 887), and this will be reflected in all quotes, invoices, and trading terms.
