Variety – the Children’s Charity of Western Australia, has announced two new patrons: Christopher Dawson and his wife Darrilyn Dawson.
Dawson is the 34th governor of Western Australia.
CEO Chris Chatterton said he was delighted to announce the appointments.
“His Excellency, the Governor of Western Australia and his wife’s generous support adds immense significance to our cause, and this is particularly important timing for the charity with the WA Tent marking its 45th year in WA and Variety Australia celebrating 50 years of operation across the country in April,” Chatterton said.
“Being supported by patrons with the credentials, experience and connections of the Dawsons will help to forge beneficial partnerships for the charity and elevate the cause of children living with disability, chronic illness or experiencing disadvantage.
“Working with the Governor and Mrs Dawson to continue to positively impact the lives of children across Western Australia is a very exciting prospect.”
It’s a first for the charity, which has previously been supported by philanthropists, business leaders and celebrities and King Charles III.
