Guide Dogs NSW/ACT, CEO, Dr Graeme White, said while vision loss is a challenging disability, the organisations services that includes guide dogs and long canes “allows people to realise it does not have to be limiting.” He added that the charity would not be in a position to receive the award without the assistance of its supporters.
Over the next decade it is predicted that more than 2000 guide dogs will need to be trained to keep up with demand at a cost of over $60 million.
