A one-stop-shop for people with severe brain or spinal cord injury has been launched. The new ‘Living with Attendant Care’ website carries wide ranging detailed information and numerous resources including fact sheets, videos and links to relevant organisations. The site also provides personal accounts of having an attendant care in the home with people with these injuries speaking about their experiences.
The new website was launch by icare CEO, Vivek Bhatia, who said getting used to living with attendant care was a challenging adjustment that people with brain or spinal cord injury face. He said the website makes the transition easier. “icare is focused on improving the care experience for injured people and their families. The new website does this by removing the uncertainty often associated with attendant care and provides simple advice from those who have experienced it,” Bhatia said. “With up to 70 per cent of the approximately 1,100 participants on the Lifetime Care scheme requiring attendant care services, the website provides a valuable orientation of attendant care.”
