The One&All creative hub for all abilities is celebrating its first anniversary with an in-house fashion event in November.
One&All is said to be unique as Sydney’s only high end, body, mind and soul inclusive, daily creative arts centre for people with all abilities.
Founded by Romy Wolman in collaboration with Jewish House, it supports young adults with physical and intellectual disabilities and mental health issues. It provides daily activities, skills training and social enterprise to enhancing mental well-being for people with disability.
Hub participants will take centre stage on the fashion runway that will showcase a collection of Australian brands. The behind-the-scenes representation will also be mirrored on the runway, that features participants and One&All community supporters. One of the participants taking part on the runway is Emily, right, pictured with Amy. Both have a rare genetic disorder and uses a walker.
Style leaders including former Marie Claire editor Jackie Franks, will choreograph, style and embellish the model’s outfits with spectacular accessories which will be available to purchase after the show.
Ticket purchases come with Kepos snack packs, and all guests receive a gift bag. Food and drinks will be provided alongside music, fashion, installations and contemporary art. One&All merchandise will be available to buy alongside the garments worn on the runway.
The hub currently offers 11 workshop programs that run for 8-12 weeks at a time, led by expert facilitators and assisted by volunteers, partners, support workers and staff.
Workshops and social enterprises include sound healing, ceramics, gardening, coffee making, yoga, meditation, art, boxing, dancing, singing, weaving, sustainable living and collective community art pieces to showcase and sell within the centre.
The event will be held on November 3 from 6.30 to 9pm, at the Rosebery space in Central Sydney.
