A woman sits in front of an interview panel at a table. She has brown hair and is wearing denim overalls and a white tshirt. We can see two people from behind, watching her at the table. It looks like a job interview.

The Government is recruiting people who are neurodivergent for the Aurora Neuroinclusion Program in Adelaide. Applications are now open for the program for a range of different roles.

Current roles available during this recruitment round include administrative support officer, associate test engineer, test engineer, program officer, systems administrator and government lawyer. The recruitment process is designed to be supportive and inclusive for neurodivergent applicants.

Minister for Government Services Bill Shorten said Aurora recognises the strengths and skills neurodivergent people can bring to the workforce.

“15 to 20 per cent of Australians are neurodivergent and have a lot to offer Services Australia, so it’s important the workforce matches that diversity. I encourage anyone based in Adelaide who is eligible and interested in a career in the public service to apply,” he said.

Past successful candidate Michael found the program helpful. “The one message I would send to future candidates is to apply for the role and see where it takes you,” he said.

Applications for the Adelaide round close on 18 August; for more information, visit www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/aurora
