Autism Awareness Australia is bringing speakers from around the country to share their autism experiences and advice with programs in Sydney and Melbourne, coinciding with World Autism Awareness Day.
The AUStism program presents a line-up of speakers including journalist and TV presenter Jo Abi, star of ‘Love on the Spectrum’ and ‘Mr A Plus’ Michael Theo; co-authors of ‘The Australian Autism Handbook’ Seana Smith and Benison O’Reilly; author of ‘The Keepers’ Al Campbell and former athlete Jana Pittman. All will bring their extensive knowledge of autism to the table, raising awareness and understanding of the diverse spectrum and experiences of autism.
Autism Awareness Australia chief operating officer, Elizabeth Sarian, said “AUStism is all about connecting with the autism community and sharing experiences to help support one another. Whether you’re an autistic person, know someone on the spectrum or simply want to learn more about autism, AUStism 2023 will have something for everyone,” she said.
The events will be held in Sydney on March 30, at The Art Gallery of NSW, at 6:30 pm and in Melbourne on April 2 at the State Library of Victoria at 3:00 pm.
