Disability, carer and aged care welfare recipients will receive $500 in cash payments in the next five months. The payments of $250 of each were announced in the 2020 Budget and will be paid this December and March 2021.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme will also be boosted by a further $3.9 billion. The addition funding will ensure that the 400,000 people who rely on the funding would have their services guaranteed, Disability Minister Stuart Robert said.
The government is also providing the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission with an additional $92.9 million over the next four years, so NDIS providers can continue to improve the quality and safety of supports received by NDIS participants.
