The Hartley Ability Cycle Challenge 2016 will be held from the 25 – 28 November. The annual event, a major fundraiser for Canberra-based Hartley Lifecare, involves 264 cyclists riding from Canberra to Mt Kosciusko and return, a distance of over 450km. Participants have to complete more than 450km of cycling and months of fundraising leading up to the event. Funds raised will go to developing and expanding the assistive technology program to the Snowy Region, supporting a respite bed, transportation and recreation programs and Hartley Brain Injury ACT.
The organisation was established in 1962 and provides accommodation, respite care, assistive technology and community support programs for children and adults with physical and complex disabilities.
