Applying for a disability parking permit in Queensland just got easier. The new online service allows for applying, reapplying or replacing a disability permit (Australian or Red) for personal use or as an agent/parent/carer for an applicant.
To use the service it is necessary to supply the following: name/DOB; Queensland drivers licence or customer reference number or, applicants disability parking permit number.

Still in Queensland, the Brisbane City Council has been presented with a Disability Access Award for implementing the Brisbane Access and Inclusion Plan. Highlights from the plan include an accessible bus and ferry fleet, platform upgrades and enhanced open spaces, accessible shopfronts and the Brisbane ‘braille trail’. The plan focussed on five priority areas: pedestrian mobility and transport, planning, development and infrastructure, public buildings – venues and outdoor spaces, caring communities and customer service and governance.
