Safeguarding the Future Conference – Canberra

This conference will explore what it means to safeguard the future of a family member with disability. A sensitive topic that can raise uneasy emotions that people may choose to avoid. Speakers will talk about issues including safeguarding for all ages, supported decision making; circles of support; wills, trusts and guardianship; employment and more. Speakers include Josey McMahon, Ann Greer, Paul Kruger, Sarah Faulkner, and Marg Ward, with others to be announced.

Registration includes access to three pre-conference webinars in early May with the option to purchase a pre-conference webinar only ticket if unable to attend in Canberra.

Pre-conference webinar speakers are Janet Klees – Decision-making in everyday life; Jo Massarelli and Cathy Ludlum – Medical safeguarding: Addressing vulnerability in medical settings; and Darcy Elks – Now is the time for vision.

The conference will be held at the Hotel Realm Canberra on May 23-24.
