Autism Awareness Australia (AAA) has released its national survey – its first in 10 years.
The peak body is seeking feedback from parents and carers of children and young adults on the autism spectrum on the key challenges they’re facing, as significant change is about to hit the sector as changes to the NDIS approach.
AAA CEO Nicole Rogerson said the survey will play a critical role in helping the peak body advocate for the needs of autism families across Australia.
“It’s no secret that the autism community is up against some significant reform in the coming months,” Rogerson said.
“This survey is an important opportunity for parents and caregivers of children and young adults with autism to have their say, share their key concerns, and help us advocate for the right reforms.”
She said the community is worried about being left behind. The responses received will inform AAA’s work this year.
“We will take our community’s feedback and formulate that into a sensible set of policy recommendations for both the Commonwealth and State Governments to consider. All responses are anonymous and we encourage our community to be as open and honest as possible,” Rogerson said.
The survey is open until February 28, 2025. To complete the survey, click here. For more information about Autism Awareness Australia, visit www.autismawareness.com.au.
