The Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO) is running a series of community workshops. These NDIS Sector Development Fund free workshops are for small community organisations, community organisation CEOs and Board members. Starting in Melbourne from May 23, the ‘NDIS Understanding train the trainer’ workshops will be available to small community organisations in every capital city over the next few months. Staff and volunteer trainers from community information, capacity building and advocacy organisations who work directly with those with disability and their families can participate in the six workshops that will deliver NDIS information and resource support. Because places are limited, only one representative per workshop can participate with a full schedule of workshops available shortly.

To help community organisation CEOs and Board members navigate the significant changes that the new market environment brings, four ‘NDIS Opportunities’ workshops are also being held. Running over two days, these workshops will start in Melbourne on June 1, gradually rolling out to all capitals over the next few months. Organisations are invited to bring both a senior management representative and a Board member to the workshop.
