The NSW Government has increased the penalty for taxis and rideshare drivers who refuse service to passengers with guide or assistance dogs.
The increase in fines from $300 to $3,300 is intended to ensure that all passengers, including those with guide dogs, receive equal treatment and access to transportation services.
Under NSW legislation, guide dogs have the right to enter any public space and vehicle and drivers must be aware of their obligations and accommodate passengers with guide dogs.
