NSW was the first state to sign up to the NDIS and first to rollout with the scheme beyond current trial sites. An agreement has been signed by Assistant Minister for Social Services Mitch Fifield and NSW Minister for Disability Services John Ajaka, pictured, to deliver the NDIS to about 2000 children with disability and their families in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
From July they will begin working with local area coordinators and planners to prepare for the NDIS and create their individual funding package from September. Both ministers said the Commonwealth and NSW Governments were working closely to finalise the details of the broader rollout of the NDIS across the rest of NSW from 2016.
