This software could be a game-changer by giving fluent voice to the speech impaired. Talkitt is new technology developed by Voiceitt that can translate indecipherable speech easily into any language. The new app has the potential to change the lives of the 1.5 per cent of the world’s population living with speech impediments.
The Talkitt app is able to deal with any language spoken based on pattern recognition which is personalised for the speaker. According to the company for example when someone says “sho-ka-la”, the app will recognise the person meant “chocolate.” Once downloaded, the software will run on a smartphone, tablet or computer.
It is claimed that the innovative speech technology will change the way speech-to-text is used and the app could be utilised in other devices like Google Glass and smart watches.
The software which is currently undergoing testing is expected to be on the market in early 2015.
