Following the release of the Disability Royal Commission recommendations, the AFDO Disability Advocacy Conference will have a special panel discussion on ‘Where to now for the disability sector.’
This will be facilitated by consultant to the DRC Natalie Wade. Prior to founding Equality Lawyers, Wade was a solicitor with the SA Government and in 2015 was appointed to the South Australian Child Protection Systems Royal Commission. She comes with background in international human rights law and law reform across legal, government and disability advocacy sectors.
Also joining the panel are Jackson Reynolds-Ryan (Blind Citizens Australia), Jen Hargraves (Women with Disabilities Vic.) and Daryl Steff (Down Syndrome Australia). This will be followed by questions from the room and online.
The keynote will be delivers by disability advocate and DRC commissioner Alastair McEwin.
The event will be held on October 30 at the Jasper Hotel, Melbourne. Registration is still open to attend, in person and online but places are limited. Register
