The public are invited to provide feedback on the draft Disability Inclusion Bill 2014. The disability law in New South Wales is being reviewed however submissions are required by February 14, 2014.
The draft Bill is intended to replace the NSW Disability Service Act 1993 and proposes a rights-based inclusion framework that moves away from historical, highly regulated services, said the Minister for Disability Services, John Ajaka.
The draft Bill will help people with disability move to the new funding arrangements under the NDIS. It also includes provisions to introduce compulsory reporting safeguards in addition to the current investigative powers of the NSW Ombudsmen.
