Making his first appearance at an ATSA Expo was Paralympian Rheed McCracken who has been sponsored by Invacare since 2012, taking to the 100m sprint in a Top End Eliminator LSR wheelchair racer. McCracken won two silver and two bronze medals at the London and Rio Paralympic Games and said his next goal is the Tokyo Games in 2020. He has also competed in the IPC World Championships.
A full time athlete, he travels a lot and whenever possible his advice to others is to: “pursue the sport they love.” McCracken said the short course race was very popular with women , with two current world champions.
Born in Bundaberg, Queensland McCracken recently made the international ‘100 Most Handsome Faces’ list, compiled by the Independent Critics, coming it at number 71, ahead of actors Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio.
