ATSA’s Independent Living Expo in Canberra last week was its third major expo of the year, the third time it has taken place in Canberra and introduced a third seminar stream to accommodate an increasing number of seminar presentations.
The expo, which was not plagued by fire alarms this time, attracted a record number of exhibitors (more than 70) and attendees from afar afield as Queensland and Northern Territory. Judging from the feedback from both exhibitors and visitors on social media, the event was very well received. ‘’Lots of happy OTs leaving with new ideas and lots of passion for what they do.’’ said Elissa Coates, National Clinical Education Manager, Novis Healthcare; first time exhibitor Jo Chambers from Colour My Wheels said they “ loved being part of the event”. And Corinne Ikin, Account Manager for Performance Health said “ATSA Canberra was a new event for me, and I was delighted with the level of enthusiasm and interest from Allied Health Therapists visiting our Display. I was fortunate to have no fewer than 60 therapists engage with me on Day 1 of the Conference. I also found the Therapists on the initial day of the Conference to approach us with genuine interest and enthusiasm about our latest product offerings and innovation”.
The education program had more than forty speakers and addressed a broad range of topics including updates on the NDIS, a very popular paediatric panel, and new sessions on autism.
The next expo will be in Adelaide (for the first time) in March 2024.
