Vision Australia has taken a new approach for its annual Radiothon donation drive, with a 100K Your Way Challenge.
The goal is for individuals to sign up with its Adelaide, Perth, or Melbourne teams, calling on friends, families and networks to walk, swim, run, or roll their way to move 100km in April.
It is free to join but those wishing to support the initiative without participating in the physical challenge can make a tax deductable donation.
“We feel we have driven our last decade of annual Radiothons from every possible direction and decided as a team that the peer-to-peer giving model was the way to go in 2024, from a new platform developed by the Vision Australia fundraising team,” VAR audio business development consultant Jason Gipps said. “It’s showing positive signs early in the venture, and we are grateful for the early adopters who have hit the ground running, etc.”
The fundraiser supports people who are blind, have low vision or print disability with its community radio reading network.
