Scentre Group, the Australian Olympic Committee and Paralympics Australia will see Westfield destinations across Australia transform into official Live Sites with livestreams of key events and matches direct from Paris, as well as Olympic and Paralympic themed events, live music and more.
Scentre Group CEO Elliott Rusanow said this strategic partnership is about building community connection and creating more reasons for customers to visit and spend time at their local Westfield.
“From July, we will be giving Australians here at home the opportunity to come together and cheer on their favourite athletes,” he said. “All 37 Westfield destinations will transform into official Live Sites and be open for more hours of the day, including in the early hours of the morning, when many events and matches will be happening live.”
Paralympics Australia acting CEO Cameron Murray said: “We are thrilled to partner with Westfield, whose commitment to creating vibrant community hubs aligns with our mission to connect more Australians with Paralympic sport.
“The potential of this partnership to enhance the visibility of the Australian Paralympic Team is immense. By transforming Westfield destinations into official Live Sites, we are ensuring fans around the country can experience the thrill of the Paralympic Games and support our incredible athletes in real-time,” he said.
According to Australian Olympic Committee CEO Matt Carroll the partnership with Westfield will bring the drama and excitement of the Paris Olympics to millions of Australians. “Our Australian Olympic athletes represent their country with enormous pride and this partnership really brings home that sense of support from communities across the country,” he said.
The full calendar of ‘unmissable moments’ will be available at Westfield destinations from July through to September 2024.
